What was your inspiration?
We're having a mother/daughter pedicure this weekend at a very nice spa. (Mom's first pedi ever!) The last thing the receptionist said when I made the appointment was, "Bring your own flip flops.". UH-OH! Neither my mother nor I have any luck finding flip flops that fit well enough to actually walk in. As fate would have it, the link to Ashley's upcycled flip flops landed in my email that very same day! I knew instantly I had to try it! So, Saturday Mom and I will be heading out to the spa in classy new foot gear!
What are you most proud of?
Mom and I both have flips flops that are actually comfortable! They were cheap (I already had most of the stuff just lying around. I think the only thing I bought, was the machine embroidery downloads to add a little style.) Oh, and I think they came out pretty darn cute - cuter than I imagined they would!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Have fun! This is one of those projects where you're only limited by your own imagination. I'm pretty sure you could even do a no-sew version, if you're not a sewer.
