What was your inspiration?
I wanted a new bag that was big enough to hold my stuff, and I could not bring myself to buy a bag when I could make one, so my Mother's Day present to myself was to make this bag. Start to finish in an afternoon.
What are you most proud of?
I am happy that I thought ahead, and added a velcro pocket inside the bag for my cell phone. I hate digging into the depths for the phone and having to drag out a hundred plus things before I finally can get to it.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
The handles were really difficult to turn right side out. They are lined with fusible interfacing, and the only type I had was pretty heavy. I ended up having to use needle nosed plyers to pull the fabric right side out, a tiny pinch at a time. This was the most time consuming part of making this bag.
Moral of the story, use a light weight interfacing, and save yourself alot of trouble.
