Mother-of-Pearl & Copper Circle Earrings

Is this your project? Can you share instructions or a pattern with the Craftsy community?

Difficulty:

Category: Jewelry

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Classic, Casual, Funky, Retro / Vintage

Materials

I made these earrings with mother-of-pearl open circle beads, crystal clear (with an Aurora Borealis finish) seed and bugle beads and the loop halves of several toggle clasps. I chose clear glass beads to allow the antiqued copper finish of the eyepins to be seen. As I mentioned, the earrings are made with headpins in an antiqued copper finish, as are the French hook earring findings and toggle clasps.

What was your inspiration?

The flashes of warm colors in the mother-of-pearl and AB-finished beads seemed to ask me to pair them with a warm metal like copper. I found some antique copper finished toggle clasps whose ring portions were the perfect size to accompany the mother-of-pearl rings.

What are you most proud of?

The way the components came together to create these pretty cascades of circles.

This piece is really pretty. I would have never thought to put mother of pearl and copper together. Amazing feel earthy and funky at the same time.
