What was your inspiration?
I wanted to use some adorable tree stump cupcake wraps we found on etsy. Moss seemed to be the right thing to top a tree stump with.
What are you most proud of?
How easily these came together. You can see there was quite a bit of food....(and you cannot see the length of both tables in this pic). The Moss is created by coloring sugar cookie dough a green color before baking, then crushing the cooled cookies. Slather the cupcakes with a green tinted frosting, then pat the cookie crumbs onto the frosting. They looked mossy, and tasted great.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Bake your cookies first and watch them closely, you do not want them to brown. If the cookies are too moist, break them into small pieces and spread them out on a cookie sheet to air dry before you continue crushing them.
