What was your inspiration?

I was looking for a challenge. I wanted to make a special quilt for a family who has been supportive to my daughter.

What are you most proud of?

I learned a new skill (sawtooth pattern). I found fabrics that really fit the family. It the first time I made a reversible quilt. The back is scrappy blocks made from fabrics that have special meaning to the receiver. And my granddaughter, Jana, work on this with me, doing the block with the ducks and Italian food.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

I like the method of doing half square triangles in this instruction. (3-7/8 squares, right side together, line in the middle and seq 1/4 inch on each side.)

Pay attention to the lay out.
