Remnants of Dale yarns

What was your inspiration?

I was pregnant with my twins and I needed a project to do since I couldn't move. I had a lot of Dale of Norway yarns left over from various knitting projects so I thought it would be fun to use them all in one project. I love doing the Dale sweaters, they are challenging and this one definitely kept me on my toes.

What are you most proud of?

I am proud that I actually finished it! When I have it on display at craft fairs, I have had a number of people comment that it was machine done because everything looks so nice, both on the front and the back. They are astonished when I tell them it is all hand done.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

You need to really like doing color work. The Dale sweaters are gorgeous when done but they take a lot of time and effort to be done properly.

This sweater has over 14 different colors. The fox heads at the shoulders made me so mad! Took over 3 tries to do them right. One time it made me so angry, I threw the whole thing in a bag for 3 years. When I tried it again, I got it right the first time! I love this sweater.
