Monument Valley Sunset
What materials did you use?
All of your work is simply stunning. I hope some day that could only achieve just part of what you have done. Awsome!
That is so sweet. Thank you very much, you made my day. I just finished another landscape in a lot of blues and I'm looking at all the warm colors in this quilt and thinking that I need to make another sunset. Have a good weekend!
Breath taking!! I can smell the sagebrush!
But not step on the rattlesnakes?! Lol. Thank you for the complements. :)
Those quilts are simply stunning. I'm really interested in making landscape quilts, other than starting small can you suggest what else I could do i.e any books I should purchase??? Judy
Hi and thank you! I have two books, Watercolor Landscape Quilts and Lovely Landscape Quilts. One is piecing landscapes from squares and triangles and Lovely is about using strips. For raw edge applique landscapes, I'd recommend Nancy Zieman's and Natalie Sewell's Landscape Quilts and their Art of Landscape Quilts. One other thing you can start doing NOW, is buying 1/4 yard pieces of landscape quilting fabrics so you can build your 'paint' palette. :)
I just love this quilt - is there a class or a pattern available to make it?
No pattern I'm sorry to say. I designed it on graph paper and built it using long strips. You might check out my book if you are interested in learning more. Thanks! for the compliments, I'm glad you like it!
