Instructions

Be extremely accurate with your 1/4 inch seams....this looks easy and it is....BUT you must ensure you keep measuring your blocks and square everything up before you sew the sashing on.. Good for confident beginner. The hardest part was cutting out the fabric. Number each section according to the chart so that you don't get lost when sewing the logs together.

Materials

Fat Quarters from the entire range of Montrana Modern by Benartex. Beautiful fabrics that were a gift and came in their own little rattan basket with a lid! Sashing fabric from Connecting Threads - the best prices! Wool batting. Quilted in the ditch and through the blocks and shadow quilted the motifs in each picture block by myself.

What was your inspiration?

I was given the whole range of FQs Montana Modern fabric by Benartex in a cute little rattan box with a lid....so I found this pattern online and away I went.....Fabrics are just beautiful...wanted to make this for a lovely boy I know....

What are you most proud of?

That is looks just like the picture on the instructions! And it is the same size as the photo.....a little bit wonky in parts but its good....substituted sashing fabric as I didn't have the length in the FQs to cut it out.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Read twice cut once! You need an accurate 1/4 inch foot on your machine...Cut out the fabric carefully and square up your blocks as you finish each one.....square up the quilt before you put the borders on to it....

I really like this! It shows how you can really make a design stand out by fussy-cutting pictures. Well done!
