Cotton quilt grade fabric, cotton flannel applique, warm and natural cotton batting, manchine quilted

What was your inspiration?

My cousin and his wife are having their first child. He is an independent filmaker in the "horror film genre" so I was thinking unisex monsters when I found the Jumping Bean Monster fabric designed by TracyDW70 on Spoonflower. Combined it with "Sassy" by Sandy Gervais for Moda charm pack and it was a go.

What are you most proud of?

This was a true collaboration beteen me and my 9 yr old daughter. She drew the inspiration for the monster (based on the fabric) and set out patterns for the border. Although I've machine quilted smaller projects before, this is my first attempt at machine quliting a larger peice.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Relax and work through each step in the process.
