Monolith - necklace

Make It

This project was made from an independent Craftsy designer's pattern:
Monolith pendant »

Difficulty:

Category: Jewelry

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Rock / Punk, Ethnic, Whimsical, Hipster, Funky

Materials

This is a monster of a pendant, measuring 4" long and 1 1/4" wide, hence the name (albeit upside down). I let these beautiful Lapis Lazuli beads dictate the design to me. They seemed to want to be in a line, one ontop of another, graduating downwards in size. The challenge was setting them in position, so I have used multiple structure wires to do this as well as weaving. - I used an obscene amount of wire for this beast ;D Of course a pendant of this size and weight needs a substantial chain to hang from, so it gave me an excuse to do some chain maille, something I very rarely have time to do, this Byzantine chain is 17 1/4" long, including the coiled hook clasp.

Is this your project? Tell us more!

Thank you so much!! The chain took an age to make but I think it was worth the effort :)
