What materials did you use? Home Dec fabric, fusible horsehair interfacing, and a zipper.

What are you most proud of? Getting the proportions right - the bottom part of the bag in relation to the top part of the bag. The "G" bag was my first attempt - I made the bottom (brown) piece taller on my own bag. And getting the monogrammed centered. I purchased the monogram at Five Star Fonts. Love it.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Use a heavy cotton duck on the bottom of the tote - it is stronger and won't show wear in the corners like other totes. And don't use fusible fleece - use fusible horsehair; it doesn't add bulk and it makes the fabric stronger. I plan on getting this pattern developed and written in the next few months.

I love making bags and your projects are great!

Thanks so much! Most of the bags I make are from my own patterns - I see a purse I like, sketch it out, then make it. My favorite new pattern is The Bevy Bag by Among Brenda's Quilts. I'll post the project soon.

Funny, I don't use patterns either, I have something in mind and just figure it out, I must admit there are a few prototype that need a bit of tweaking! I get a lot of requests for patterns for projects I have posted and I can't help because there wasn't a pettern in the first place!
