What was your inspiration?
i was asked to try to create a sock monkey hat. after a few tries i got the pattern down pat and now have sold many in all different colours and sizes. most everything i design is inspired by my young daughter who also has more hats and unique accessories than any other child on the planet.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
play around with different yarns and hook sizes, turning your work with each round makes the ear flaps blend in when adding them after the main part of the hat is finished.
