There are at most two colors in one round so this is techniqually fair isle.As there are many color changes it is a more challenging project.
But absolutely worth it!
Be sure to carry the unused yarn loosely with you otherwise the knitting will become too tight!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Take your time, carry the unused yarn loosely and weave in the ends during knitting. Otherwise you will have a lot of weave in work afterwards. But the beanie is absolutely worth it!
