What materials did you use? White on white cotton fabric, other commercial bright cotton fabrics, Valdani hand-dyed pearl cotton thread, Valdani hand dyed 35wt variegated thread, Aurifil #12wt thread, Sulky Rayon thread.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Have some fun using embroidery and decorative stitches on your quilts.

I don't think the border overpowers the quilt. It makes it look like a window and gives the quilt a 3D look. I like it.

I am loving this type of quilting using our machine stitches. I haven't started my class yet, but have supplies and ready to get started possibly next week. I have signed up for too many classes to keep up! :)

I love the idea. I tend to agree with the person below about the border--it is so bold that it kind of makes the delicate stitches on white recede a bit, but it is a very cool idea that I have been toying with. I wish I could just quit my day job and do all the projects I am thinking about!
