Modern Log cabin/#9 May BOM

The final block after trimming

The final block after trimming
First try before trimming off the edge

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Craftsy Block of the Month 2012 »

Instructions

The first try of this block, I made the edge a lighter color. Then I cut off the edges. I cut off wide enough to keep the cuttings for strips for the wonky block. I added strips that would make it different to compliment the other blocks for the quilt.
I did set up a cutter wheel and small mat beside the sewing machine so I don't have to get up every time. Made it quicker.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

For: Other

Materials

I used the same materials as last months BOM. I wanted to use it with the others in a quilt. One left over large Hexicon framed in modern log cabin style. I liked this block and would make it again.

What was your inspiration?

I'm laying out a quilt today. With this block and april's BOM's, I will post it when it is done.

What are you most proud of?

incorporating the other months methods and actually making a quilt.
