Mickey Mouse is made from a Royal Icing Transfer. I use Montreal Confections Recipe and traced an image over saran wrap- make it a medium thickness so it won's shatter and make extras in case. The cake itself was made following the Modern Buttercream instructions and buttercream recipe- TO DIE FOR!!!Difficulty:

What was your inspiration?
Mickey Mouse and Modern Buttercream course for 2 tiered white cake. Blue Ruffle Cake with Mickey was from Pinterest and Martha Stewarts page.
What are you most proud of?
The look in general. The last time I conquered a tiered cake it didnt work out so great- well it wasn't level. I love the way the look of the Mickey Mouse transfer. I wanted to do a yellow, red and Mickey Mouse hat fondant cake like the pictures you see through Google but glad I changed my mind. The crisp white makes a statement and the blue ruffle cake adds more oomph to the dessert table..... Lots of likes!!!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Make Royal Transfer days and days in advance. Make cake in advance, make sure you have sufficient fridge space. I wanted to decorate my ruffle cake the night before but thougth that saran wrap would squish the icing.... Give yourself plenty of time... Double the buttercream recipe- you can always freeze it or keep it in the fridge for a bit :)
