What was your inspiration?
As the title suggests, this scarf looks a lot like a Missoni scarf available on the internet right now. I made it after a recent trip to Austin, Texas where I bought the tencel yarn at Hill Country Weavers. Having no idea what to make with this yarn, I finally settled on a simple repeating lace pattern that would be easy to do on the long-haul flight home to England. I took a few pictures of the scarf for my blog with a fancy camera my husband borrowed from work, and while doing so it occured to me that the scarf looks a little Missoni. Maybe a lot Missoni! Technically, it's not Missoni-inspired at all. Just a coincidence!
What are you most proud of?
That I managed to untangle some of this yarn after it decided to bunch itself up in the bottom of my carry-on luggage. Do NOT get this stuff tangled! It's a nightmare!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
If you have never done a lacey project before, this is a great introduction. You can make the scarf as long or as short as you like. I stuck with a shorter version that just overlaps to be secured with a scarf pin because it's a summer weight yarn.
