In the video, she uses Tacky Glue for a few of the pieces, I tried that & had some trouble, since it takes longer to dry. On my second one, I used hot glue for everything & it was much better!I also added rhinestones to mine (not in the video). It's great to think of the tutorial as a starting point, then add in your own creativity!

What was your inspiration?
My inspiration was Corrine Leigh's video on Threadbanger. I'm getting ready to go to lots of festivals & costume events & I've always wanted on of these adorable top hats, but could never find one I liked. The video tutorial is perfect, nothing better than a DIY project!
What are you most proud of?
I am most proud of the way I customized my top hats to my own liking. I followed the video for the general construction & covering of the hats, but went my own way when it came to decorating it & I couldn't be happier - I can't wait to wear it!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
I'd suggest using hot glue for the whole project - skip the tacky glue all together.
Also, get creative! There are so many ways you can go with this, from fabric selection, to size & of course decorations. Or maybe it could be made to fit on a headband? The possibilities are endless....
