Instructions

Just play and have fun! It is a very forgiving technique and as Lola says there are not mistakes..if you don't like something add more color or more stitching but have fun with it! Trust yourself and show no fear!

Materials

I used cotton material, heavy weight fusible stabilizer, quilt batting, thread and pencil crayons and a spark of childish fun and pride!

What was your inspiration?

I was inspired by life events and Lola to try a new vision on the same theme as I couldn't decide which i wanted to do so I did them both! Now you can tell me which one is better!

What are you most proud of?

I am most proud of her lips on this one and the shading on the green tree...i am loving the colors!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

PLAY PLAY PLAY! Trust yourself ....give yourself a day to experiment ...

This is a fabulous piece. You've just nailed my desire to take this class. :) I'm not familiar with pencil crayons. Is there a brand you'd recommend? I love everything about the piece, but I seem particularly drawn to your use of color.

You totally should take the class!! Lola is a great instructor, she makes me smile and she shows you how easy it is to do and fun! I love the coloring part..I used prismacolor (they don't sharpen very well with a pencil sharpener and mine kept breaking (the art studio says it does that as the pigment content makes them softer) I also used Derwent, Faber-Castell and crayola! I am also going to try a piece with Derwent Inktense watersoluble ink pencils ! Thank you so much for your kind words....I find shading is the key ! Go play !! Take care

Thank you... can I ask your advice on how you work out your pricing to sell your artwork...I did look at some of your fabulous pieces on Etsy! My favorite pieces of yours are the siloutte lady in front of her dresser/mirror and the Alien bubble lady that will be on the cover of your upcomig book! I was just asked to participate in a local art show in Sept! Very Exciting for me and someday hope to be more well known like yourself!

You can look and look at this for ages, and still see something new! The words written in the background of the two sides are intriguing and the colours are beautiful. An excellent project and I await your next one with great interest! Patricia.

I really like the way you are exploring your theme of good and evil or is it "in a good place" and hurt? Whatever words are used - your visual designs are great. I just love a good series! I always learn so much when I do one.

I love this one, very interesting how we all go in different directions with the same instructions. That is why I love to take technique classes and do my own thing.
