measurements: 48-51 cm head circumference.
Enjoy and share if you wish!

Difficulty:

Category: Crocheting

Type of item: Accessory

For: Children

Style: Romantic, Retro / Vintage, Cute

Materials

To do it you will need 1 full skein for the hat and very few yards for the edging and the flower. Its crocheted with a 3 mm hook and I added a rib stitch to provide to the hat a striking effect. .

What was your inspiration?

That was the first hat I have crocheted and I was very much inspired by the hair cut of my daughter!!

What are you most proud of?

IThe ribs of the hat...

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

please respect the type of yarn and size of crochet hook otherwise it might be too large!

I would love to make this hat, as I do make hats for the local Food Bank. The problem with this one on Ravelry as a PDF file my computer is telling me it will harm my computer. Is there anyway I could have this emailed to me. Thank you.

I'd like to thank you for the pattern... it's really lovely. Just one thing, i'm having a bit of trouble understanding the intructions for the second row of the edging.... do i have to make an increase every 3 sc?? Thank you for help :

I will go on in english if you don't mind. It may be easier to understand. You should not crochet the sc in the back loop of the ch st of the previous round. You won't have enough space. This way of working is valid each time you will have to crochet sc after a row of ch.

What size U.S. hook is this? I used a "C" and the had is very wide and the shape doesn't look anything like the picture.
knitisfun on craftsy.com
Sep 08, 2012   Flag as inappropriate
C is the good one. It's even smaller than the hook I used. What kind of yarn did you use?

It is Vanna's Choice-Lion Brand 4 ply, 3.5 oz., 100% acrylic, 150 yds (156m) What is the width of the finished hat before adding the trim?

Do I chain when going to the next row? I have been chaining 2, going to the 2nd loop and counting the chain as my 1st stitch.

I love this pattern but I cannot download PDFs on our computer. Could you by chance email me instructions? I want to make the hat in three different color styles for our three daughters. :) Thanks for your help.

You may change the size of the hook but check regularly if it's not too large! or keep the yarn type and size of hook and add more increases and rows. Happy crocheting!

This is a beautiful hat! (And, by the way, so is the child. ) I cannot, as of yet, crochet but I would like to learn soon and would very much like to make this. It really is lovely! Reminds me a bit of a flapper's hat.
