What materials did you use? Home dec weight linen/cotton blend print and 100% cotton for the accent pieces. Interfacing was shape flex for the lining and accent pieces and fusible fleece for the main front/back/ and flap. I used quilt batting for the laptop pocket inside.

What are you most proud of? I enjoyed this pattern very much. I've never been a huge fan of messenger bags, but this one is smaller than most I've seen, and could be carried everyday. The padded pocket inside is great for a laptop or tech pad. The design leaves lots of options to play with the fabric and make something really unique.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? It's very straight forward. Just make sure you piece the zipper tab together with the zipper face up. I did it upside down and didn't realize it until the bag was almost finished! ugh! Luckily I could unpick and resew, it was just a little awkward getting through the machine. Otherwise, it sewed together flawlessly and quite quickly.

This is beautiful! Is this large/strong enough to carry school books?
