Would love to find out more about the process of turning soft items into porcelain, what is the liquid, and does it require firing? Sounds lovely and durable!

This is really pretty and I am really please to get a free pattern. I am really interested in the stiffening process as I am teaching a crochet class in my daughter's school and we are thinking of crocheting snowflakes for Christmas. Thanks again.

Love to do this type crochet. It is a dying art. Not a lot of people do it anymore. Thank you for the pattern. It will make Christmas and Indian Pow Wow gifts.

I love to crochet, though I don't do enough of it since I started teaching painting classes (it takes up most of my time). When I saw this beautiful piece I was inspired to get back into it again. Thanks

How do I get the patterns, I do advanced crocheting so I don't really need the classes but I am always interested in new patterns.

It is so pretty and delicate. Did you stiffen it with anything or did it form itself as you continued in the round?
JeanieK on craftsy.com
May 29, 2011   Flag as inappropriate
It needs to be stiffened and shaped over a bowl. I used Needlework Finisher which made it slightly rubbery and flexible. Could also use fabric starch or sugar water.
