Instructions

I modified the pattern by using 12 blocks instead of 24 blocks. I then placed sashes around each block and added an inner border and an outer border. I machine quilted it using loops, stars, and Mia's name,

Materials

cotton fabrics of chosen colors, winnie the pooh fabric for the backing, thread, 80/20 batting, rust resistance pins

What was your inspiration?

The anticipated birth of my step-granddaughter. Her mother loves purple and Winnie the Pooh.

What are you most proud of?

The machine quilting which included the spelling of her name.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Take care to be consistent with the size of your seams. This will ensure that the blocks do not vary much in size.

You are so right. Thankfully her name is short (lol) Thanks for your comments. I love the way the quilt starts to feel as it becomes quilted. A great feeling after a stressful day. Go ahead and sew that name :-)

Hey, you stole my idea about sewing the name on the quilt!!! LOL J/K, Ms. Rita. It looks great. I'm sure Mia loved it. Personalizing quilts make them that much more special, I think.
