Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Stitch & Slash »

Instructions

Simply watch the Stitch and Slash course, use brightly colored material for the front and the flap and I used repurposed denim jeans for the rest of the purse. I used a pattern, Butterick # B5273, for the body of the bag and added the stitch and slash front to it.

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Accessory

For: Girls

Style: Funky

Materials

I used several cotton and cotton blend material scraps, ribbons, buttons, beads, and floss.

What was your inspiration?

The many beautiful pieces I viewed from class.

What are you most proud of?

That it came out to be a very sturdy piece!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Just do it! It is so much fun and easy... If you mess up, it is very forgiving and you won't even notice the mistake.

She does, and the strap is adjustable so she can wear it crossways or just as a shoulderbag. Thanks!
