What are you most proud of? I was pleased with the variety of shading.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? I should have taken more pictures including some at an angle so there would have been some perspective.

Hello Eliana18, In this drawing of the Mesquite Fence, the perspective is compromised due to the close focus and, as you note, no angle: The fence is parallel to the picture plane. That being said, this type of exercise is useful and enjoyable. It is a way in which the artist can familiarize him-or herself with their materials. Also, it is an opportunity to practice formal modeling or shading as well as understanding the depiction of detail. I would recommend doing the same fence from a distance and angle to introduce perspective. Use your Cone of Vision tool to place you at an ideal distance. I look forward to seeing the posting of your next drawing.
