What materials did you use? I hand spun the yarn for this project from a roving of Merino wool and silk blend fiber. It is a 2 ply and just heavenly to work with. this is probably my favorite knitting yarn. It is extremely soft and feel so smooth going through your hands. The merino wool is bouncy and elastic and shows great stitch definition while the silk added even more warmth and more importantly strength and durability to the yarn. It is even better than adding nylon for strength and long lasting fabric.
What are you most proud of? I love the way the smocking turned out. this is such a sweet and feminine sweater for a little girl. I was happy to find the little pearl buttons for the finishing touch. It was was inspired by a vintage baby knitting book that I've had for over 30 years.
