Men's Socks

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Knit Original Cuff-Down Socks »

Difficulty:

Category: Knitting

Type of item: Accessory

For: Men

Style: Classic

Materials

Lion Brand Wool-Ease in SeaSpray (pale blue/green/grey)

What was your inspiration?

I wanted to make a pair of socks for my brother in law that were warm, but also washable. I had a few balls of Lion Brand Wool-Ease left over from another project, and looked through patterns from this workshop to see what I could use it for.

What are you most proud of?

Figuring out what size needles and how many stitches to use in order to make a pair of men's size 8 socks.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

It takes a bit of calculating to figure out how many stitches to use, and what size needles to get the right size. A test swatch is a great tool!

These are the 'seaweed' pattern. I cast on 40 stitches and did 2.5" of k1 p1 ribbing. In the last row of ribbing, I decreased 1 stitch, and worked pattern over 39 stitches. I hope this helps!

I love your socks but I'm not sure which of the patterns you used from the workshop. Can you let me know? Or if it was a different pattern, could you share the name? THANKS!
