What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Use a pattern and not go freehand like I did. Having the pictures all the same size would have made the project go faster. I was on a tight schedule to get this quilt done so it is tied not quilted.

Very nice! Don't you find the "tight schedule" somehow inspires us to finish something we procrastinated about ! I did the memory quilt for my Mother in law's BD at Christmas....time slipped by and had to shake a leg to complete. Thank you for sharing!
