What materials did you use? This memory quilt was made from my mother-in-law's fabric stash and her t-shirts from travels with my father-in-law after his retiring from the Navy, and a jelly roll sewn to make the framing strips. It is embroidered with the Navy "Don't Tread on Me" flag, anchors, nautical compasses and war planes. Also embroidered "Wrap yourself in the warmth of memories." I used quilt in the ditch and some echo quilting that I learned from the machine quilting class. It was his Christmas gift the year after she passed away.

Wonderful results! I love tee-shirt quilts. Such a great way to enjoy memories and I'm sure your father-in-law appreciated it very much.
