What was your inspiration?

I wanted to make something special for my dear friend who lost her husband to cancer. All of the "prints" are from her husband's shirts.

What are you most proud of?

That it's square! Working with shirtings is difficult because they are different weaves and different fabric contents. There was a lot of distortion during cutting and sewing. It took a long time, but I squared up each block after they were all sewn together. Otherwise I'm sure it would have been a giant mess!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

This shouldn't be that difficult if you are using all quilting fabrics. Squaring up your blocks is a must!

I've been saving my hubby's worn out work shirts and can't wait to have enough for a quilt. This version is just beautiful and a great gift for your friend. Well Done!
