Instructions

No pattern - just took the old clothes cut them down and ironed them onto fusible fleece (for stabilization) and added some sashings...sandwiched in between the batting and back and quilted them.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Home

Style: Cute, Funky, Casual

Materials

Old clothes, batting, fusible fleece, quilt binding tape, back in flannel, sashings were made of shirting material, sewing supplies & tools.

What was your inspiration?

My co-worker had just lost her brother and she asked me to make her (and her Mom) a memorial quilt using some of her brother's clothes. I also had a picture of him in the middle with a saying she asked me to put on it.

What are you most proud of?

How well she liked it. I made one for her and one for her Mom. They both liked them.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

I also made a couple of pillows with some of the left overs. On the quilt, I had one row of "pockets" from the shirts and if they want, they can place items in them.
