Polyester charmeuse is tricky stuff to work with. I pinned it on grain to my wooly board before pinning pattern pieces to it to cut it out.The skirt is a full circle so a fair bit of it is on some sort of bias. I had to let it sit on my dress form overnight before hemming, to ensure I got a nice even hem.
I shortened the straps by 5/8" for a better fit.

What was your inspiration?
I pretty much copied the pattern envelope. I love the polka dots and bright pink midriff band
What are you most proud of?
This is my first time working with polester charmeuse. If I never do again, i won't complain. That stuff is a P.I.T.A
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
This is an easy pattern so there are a lot of construction shortcuts that make for a cute dress but not a garment that's necessarily made to last a lifetime. If I were using a more expensive fabric, I would do a proper lining and a hand picked zipper.
I do wish I had done french seams for the unlined skirt. It's fine as is, but it wouldn't have taken me any more time and would have made a nice finish for this fabric.
