What materials did you use? I used 'The Perfect Brown Solid Cotton Lycra Knit Fabric' from girlcharlee.com. It is a 9 oz. fabric, perfect for a breezy summer skirt. I used SB 302 from Skinny Bitch Curvy Chic Patterns, a pattern line designed for petite sewers. I constructed it using my serger, for the seams, and topstitched with a double needle on my sewing machine.

What are you most proud of? I love the way the hem looks. (Sorry no close up photos.) I used a special kind of fusible web to fuse the hem. This way, the hem was stuck in place and after I topstitched it, the hem looked really smooth and professional.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Pay attention to how much stretch the pattern recommends. If your pattern has less stretch, you'll have to go up a size before cutting out. Knits are not hard to sew, just different than wovens. Don't be afraid! They are fun! I've been a little reticent about sewing with knits. Now I see the results are worth it. Thanks for the push....I love it for the summer.
