Mary D's Bandana Bonanza

Dedication of back of quilt

Instructions

I designed this quilt to use bandanas I bought at at estate sale. Our local quilting club sewed the blocks together and we donated it to the local Senior center for a fund raiser. I assume the bandanas had been potlatch presentations.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Home

Style: Casual, Whimsical, Traditional, Romantic

Materials

cotton bandanas, batting, cotton fabrics for borders and backing

What was your inspiration?

The bandanas. I wanted to do something with them and our quilt group needed a project. We decided to make this as a fund raiser for the local senior center in honor of the land who had owned the bandana's.

What are you most proud of?

How well the different bandanas we had went together in a finished quilt.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Be patient with working with bandana. They are usually made of inferior fabrics and nearly always cut crooked. Because they are normally made of lower quality fabrics, use on projects that will not have a lot of hard use.
