What was your inspiration?
This was a birthday gift for my mother. She was a very good traditional quilter. She machine pieced, but hand quilted. Unfortunately, she has given up quilting because of arthritis in her hands.
What are you most proud of?
I think I did quite well with the piecing, and I really like the fabric prints and colors. The quilting, however, is not great. I am a beginning longarm quilter and know that I have a way to go ... especially with feathers. Need lots of practice.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Peggy's paper piecing instructions are great. Listen carefully and take your time. On the quilting, be brave enough to try free motion because it is fun, but be sure to practice the design a lot!
