What was your inspiration?
I have always had a passion for houses. Full sized houses, miniature houses, centuries old houses, new houses, etc. The only houses I know how to make, though, are fabric houses.
My daughter loved her Valentines Day mug rug and I wanted to make her another one for March. What to do? March and shamrocks go together. Plants and houses go together. Light bulbs went off. A house mug rug!
I had so much fun designing this little mug rug and stitching it up. I keep thinking that I would love to make a house mug rug for every month of the year.
Not only are they quick and fun, but these little projects are such a super way to use up bits of scraps as well.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Oh, my! Just play!!
