Love you colors. Are you using a fat quarter bundle or how much of each fabric do you buy if choosing your own fabrics if you are buying for the entire finished quilt. I'm a beginner and have no fabric stash. can't find a bundle I like.

Thank you very much! I've been quilting for about 6 years now so I'm using the greens (scraps and yardage) and a big piece of solid black from my stash. I think it's safe to say that she suggests buying a fat quarter bundle simply for a large variety of fabric. There's about 9 yards total in the one she chose, and there's no way you would ever use that much in a lap quilt. I think that you could start by picking out 15- 20 fat quarters you like together, along with the yardage for your background solid, and have plenty of fabric for the quilt.

Try online stores like fatquartershop, hawthorne threads, burgundy buttons, lola pink fabrics, bloomerie fabric, del ray fabric, sew mama sew, sew modern fabrics, etc for great modern fabric selections. You can also check out sites like fabric donkey and the fabric shopper to find out which sites have sales/deals going on. Hope all this info helps!

It's amazing how much better the star block looks with black in the centre. I made mine with a light-coloured cnetre and simply had to put something else in it as it just looked too bland. I love your colours and look forward to seeing your completed quilt in due course.

Thank you so much! I really love the way the black has turned out too. I'm just getting back on track with this project and I'm trying hard to catch up and complete the blocks by the end of the year. I'm excited to see how it turns out too! Thanks for the encouragement :)
