What was your inspiration?

I saw a quilt from Janegirl3 on this website , and I really liked the idea of the design, so I asked/told her I was going to "borrow" the design, and she said yes! Her original design was blues and white which make it quite a striking quilt, but I had bought some fat quarter packs and that is what I used for my version. This is the finished product. I am giving this quilt to my mother in law as a Christmas present.

What are you most proud of?

The color combination turned out great. I felt I cheated a little by using a designer collection because I am not that color coordinated, but that's what the collections are there for, right? LOL I did have to work on the design measurements and ratios myself, but I think the end result is better than I expected.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Don't be afraid of color, and as always, have fun doing this. It comes together pretty quickly.

Way to go for keeping on the smiling side of your Mother-in-law! Very lovley. Nothing wrong with using a fabric collection, as you say that is why designers have co-ordinating fabrics!! Looks great.

What a great Christmas present for your mother-in-law! She will be so blessed by your gift. Such beautiful colors and the pieced back is an extra touch. Thank you for sharing so everyone can enjoy and be inspired.

Thanks, Sadiedaze. I cannot take all the credit, I was inspired by a previous post on here. The backing came about because I had all these extra pieces, and I had to find a way to use them so they wouldn't go to waste. Let's hope she enjoys it as much as I did making it!
