Malcom the Monkey quilt

Pattern Info

Instructions

I used lots of different fabric so my grandson could feel different textures in this quilt.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Children

Style: Whimsical, Cute

Materials

Cotton, corduroy, satin, fur, flannel fabrics.

What was your inspiration?

We choose a jungle theme for my grandson's baby shower and I made monkey cupcakes for it and the monkey theme has stuck with him.

What are you most proud of?

That it came out beautifully. I found a flannel that has monkeys in banana boats for the backing, which is perfect as my son-in-law in in the Navy.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Take your time and have fun with it. Don't be afraid to work with other fabrics in a quilt besides cotton and flannel. I will be working on a few baby quilts next year for a friend incorporating clothing from each of her 3 babies. Also plan to do one for my grandson. This year he will be getting a toddler bed to put his monkey quilt on.
