What was your inspiration?
Found this fantastic website, garnstudio.com, made by a Norwegian yarn company. All free, multiple languages, and just gorgeous designs. First of many to come from there for me.
What are you most proud of?
Once again, I had scored this gorgeous, lusciously soft yarn on Ebay for a fraction of a price last year. The plan was to make it into a knitted jacket, but I'm absolutely thrilled with this for a result. Also, my dad just recently passed away, and I was sitting with my mom watching TV just a couple of days before I had to return to the US. She was snuggling with a shawl I had knitted her a while ago, but to my sensibility, it looked a little snug. I asked her if I could knit her another, better fitting one, and I just asked what color she might like. She said "Red", without even knowing that this was waiting for me at home, ready to be sewn together and have the border finished. As soon as this dries out from blocking, it'll be shipped to my mom.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
The finished size here is 55.5" X 41", and I used 9 skeins of Malabrigo Worsted, #502, American Beauty yarn.
