What was your inspiration?
Looking at purses and bags on Craftsy! It seemed a good way to use up some pieced squares I'd made last summer that just didn't hava a quilt in their future.
What are you most proud of?
The color combinations and finding a good use for fabric that's been hanging around for 20 years!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Find a fabric that has several colors in it, then coordinate fabrics that go with those colors to make the pieced square. Color coordinate the lining, quilting threads and zipper. To get the fancy machine stitching to meet evenly at the point of the chevron, start there and sew to the end, then reverse the stitch on the machine, begin exactly at the first stitch of the previous stitching and sew in the opposite direction.
