Instructions

Well, it is very important to own her book called Crochet Chic. There are 30 patterns in the book to make with all types of yarn especially Red Heart Super Saver yarn. If you want totally Chic at one fourth the price, then, get this book and have a blast. This is the first or second item out of her book and I went on ebay and bought all the yarn to make them. I even used the same colors. How ...

Materials

Light Magenta poly yarn. Size 10 mm hook. Pattern out of Francine Toukou's : Crochet Chic. Size is 30" by 5". Made as a gift for Amy, of course....who else? Short and long version. Short is 5" wide and long is 4" wide and 45" long. Both done with hdc and dc sts.

What was your inspiration?

As usual I was looking in Francine's book Crochet Chic and saw this scarf. I had just received two skeins of pink light Magenta from Istanbul Turkey and thought YES that is it! So I got out my 5.5 hook and away I went but when I was one it was too narrow so after finishing a 45" long version, I got out a 10 mm hook and did the same only this time I made it only 30" like the pattern and wow! It is so sweet. I sent it to Amy, my darling only daughter, and hope she likes it. I kept the long one for me to use for a belt around my shorts. I live in AZ.

What are you most proud of?

Not much only that I can still do this stuff. I am getting pains in my hands from doing so much needle work so I am taking a break and will be making Tilda dolls by Tone Finannger. I am sure you all have seen her dolls and Dala horses, cats and birds. I will be making them all. I found a couple books on Amazon for cheap and will make the doll first. Tilda......with the long head and tiny hairdo. I have tons of yarn so thought I would crochet clothes for her instead of making cloth clothes. Don't know how that will work but can't hurt to try. Huh?

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Nothing really other than use a very thin yarn & a 10mm hook. The 5.5 makes a very narrow gauge and not like the book. It shows it to be very open and loopy but the 5.5 makes it closed and not like the book at all so use a larger hook. K?
