What was your inspiration?
Seacoast Modern Quilt Guild sponsored this challenge. I designed the image and created it with fusible appliqu. On the back I tried English paper piecing to show off this lovely fabric line. I used meandering clover stitch learned in this class and must say I think that this class is very well done. Leah is a thoughtful teacher and the instructions are so specific to using the home sewing machine. I know I will return to her lessons many times.
What are you most proud of?
I am proud of my original design.
The meandering clover was the perfect fit on that lovely Queen Ann's Lace flower fabric.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
See how Leah breaks a design down and uses the quilting designs to highlight the piecing. Think of the quilting like drawing, adding a linear detail to your work. Like handwriting, eventually I would like to see my quilting evolve to a personal element that reflects my style.
