STEP 1: Use the throw to make the following pieces for the hoodie: back (cut 1), front (cut 2), sleeves (cut 2), hood (cut 2). Use a hoodie from your closet as a guideline for sizing but this new hoodie should be much larger and baggier! STEP 2: Once all pieces are cut out, finish the raw edges by serging or using a zig-zag stitch. Since the throw pattern will appear the same on both sides of the fabric, select a right side of your fabric and mark the opposite side with chalk or washable fabric marker. STEP 3: Install the zipper on the two front pieces making sure that the zipper will be facing the right side of your fabric when finished. Leave enough room at the bottom of the zipper to roll a 1/2 hem (or more if desired). STEP 4: Match the right sides of the fabric together and sew the back and front pieces together at the side seams using a ½ seam allowance. STEP 5: Sew shoulder seams together at ½ seam allowance, again matching the right sides of the fabric. STEP 6: Fold the sleeves in half lengthwise, matching the right sides together. Sew down the length of the sleeve at ½ seam allowance creating a sleeve tube. To ease sleeve into the armhole, sew a row of basting stitches around the cap of the sleeve, then pull the basting thread to adjust ease. Pin into armhole (right sides together) and sew at ½ seam allowance. STEP 7: Match hood pieces, right sides together, and sew the center seam at Ό seam allowance. Attach the hood by pinning the single piece into the neckline, then sewing at Ό seam allowance. STEP 8: To finish, hem the sleeves and hoodie by rolling fabric under by a ½, and then pin and sew around.
