Materials

1mm leather cord, eight lampglass cube beads, cord ends, jump rings, silver plated magnetic clasp. Board and bulldog clip to hold the macrame during production.

What was your inspiration?

Shamballa bracelets! I had these lovely lampwork cube beads and I thought they were perfect - but I had too many for a bracelet and so I made them into a necklace.

What are you most proud of?

Knotting the leather - I had previously done macrame with hemp thread and string but I have been playing with leather and I like both the look and the durability of this material.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Space the beads carefully - calculate the length of the finished necklace, how many beads there are and how long your knots are !
