My original idea for this was to create a paisley shape, from that concept, I developed this necklace: http://www.craftsy.com/project/view/Lyre-Echoes/35445 I have developed these earrings from that original design. They are made using a variety of techniques, the main frame is shaped and hammered, to give the wire a textured finish. I have then added matt olive seed beads and used the wrapping to create a pattern around the frame. I have then used delicate knot work to form a bezel to secure a faceted oval Peridot bead to the centre with a faceted citrine sitting above it. The earrings are made of copper wire of varying gauges, with matt olive seed beads, faceted Citrine and Peridot gemstones. The earrings have been oxidised. The earrings have a 2 1/4" drop and the wire work is 1 1/4" tall and 3/4" wide.

I really love this piece. How do you wrap the wire around the center bead?

Thank you! This is on my to-do list for tutorials, it is an adaptation of Viking knitting :)

Abby, got a question for you. On the majority of your hammered pieces like this one, do you use a chasing hammer or a ball peen?

I use a chasing hammer, although you could use a ball peen if that is what you have got to hand ;)
