What was your inspiration?

I made this hat for my daughters 6 month photo session. It was dead of winter, and I was looking forward to spring to make it's appearance. I used gray and a crisp white for the grays of winter, and a bright, cheery pink for the flowers, trim, and pom pom to represent the first flowers of spring.

What are you most proud of?

How cute this project turned out. My daughter got so many compliments when she wore this hat.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

This is a great hat for someone to do as a first project knitting in the round. The stripes are a fun pattern, the different colored yarn can be dropped as the next color is picked up, then picked up again without tying off.

Great looking hat. i knit for the Lakota NB Baby Bundles and this pattern will be not only so cute but CHEERFUL too. Thos New Mothers haven't any New clothes for their beautiful Bundle of JOY!! the org. is NAPHTALI! Janet Conrad Master Knitter writen up in Better Homes and Gardens since by now 10years a ago and we are still her biggest fan/supporter!

So cute! I downloaded the pattern. My knitting skills are basic at best but gonna give it a try for my two little granddaughters. They are 2 and 4. Any hints on how I can enlarge the directions?

I would try using larger needles and bigger ply. It would make it bigger but like you, I'm no expert so I don't really know how much bigger it would be. I'm going to have a go myself - it is gorgeous.

hello! the pattern is written in multiples of 8 - so as long as you cast on a number of stitches that is a mulitple of 8 you should be good to go!
