Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Inspired Modern Quilts: 7 Small Projects With Big Style »

Instructions

I used more blocks than in the course sample and added the zig-zag stripe to add drama.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Unisex

Style: Casual

Materials

All fabrics 100% cotton.

What was your inspiration?

I didn't have all the beautiful modern grey tones that are used for the demo quilt, so rather than a shopping spree I used what I had. A selection of traditional neutrals combine with Kona Carrot and Kona Chocolate. I think it still creates a modern feel :)

Quilting designs were inspired by Angela Walters' Craftsy course and book.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

See what you have in your stash that will work before buying all new fabrics!

The orange and black triangles is a fun surprise contrasted to the shapes and softer colors of the tiles.

I love orange and I can't tell if those are stones or eggs, but it adds something quirky

Love your quilt! And let's admit it, It would not have been the same without your smart addition of Kona Carrot & Chocolate. Great inspiration! Thank you for sharing.
