What was your inspiration?

This is a pictorial quilt of a rock formation along Pictured Rocks National Lake Shore in UP Michigan. My husband and I love camping in the UP, Unfortunately, the only way to see the really cool rock formations is to take a cruise along them. (Ted and I are hikers, not boaters, lol).

Wonderful! We love going up to the UP, too... more in the Porkies, though! Thanks for the inspiration. I haven't done a landscape yet and feel a little overwhelmed by the prospect.

This was actually the first strip pieced landscape I've done. Talk about jumping in right over your head! I've done some simpler ones now and that is a much better place to start. Lol

Oh, I forgot to say that we were in the Porkies for one day last fall. We camped up at McClean State park - right along the water! Loved it, just love the Keewenaw Peninsula.

I went to your website and am inspired!! I will spend more time and some $$ there soon. I have been collecting fabrics all across the country on our year-long trip in our RV. I plan to make a large quilt with small landscapes of the places we've been...from Calif,, Alaska, New England and along the E. Coast, through the south and home again. We are headed home to Grass Valley California now. I've not done a landscape quilt before, so looking forward to learning something new. I made 3 quilts while traveling. (see my site - especially enjoyed "Our Town" quilt.

This is fantastic. Makes me want to dig into the stash I just put away for a few days so I can get something else done.
