Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this cake:
Louis Vuitton Purse Cake; Cake layered in Buttercream, covered in Chocolate Ganache and Fondant, stenciled using technique taught in advanced fondant course.
Beautiful. Did you use a stencil? Is so where did you get it? Thanks.
Hi Kathleen, I sincerely apologise for my VERY late response. Please forgive me if you can. Yes I bought the stencil online from the US, I just googled LV stencil, I honestly can't remember the exact website as i had a couple of options to choose from. Designer stencil also sells it I believe. I followed instructions from Sharon Zambito's DVD for the cake construction (it was her original shape and design) and made some variations to suit the event. I used methods taught by Marina Sousa in Advanced fondant techniques to cover the purse with chocolate fondant .The book on the side was also cake. I hope this helps. again, sorry for the delayed response. Regards.
What tutorial did you use to make it, I am going to make this cake in about a week but I am kind of going on pictures as I don't have any tutorials for it
Just wondering what tutorial you used to make this??" I have to make this cake in about a week but I don't really know what I am doing as I couldn't find a video for it so I'm just making it from pictures
Hi Harriet, It is a version of the purse cake made by the famous Sharon Zambito of sugaredproductions. She has videos online you can subscribe to. Also you can email her directly when you join her online school. If you google her the original version is everywhere on the web for a guide. Designer handbag cake by Elisa Strauss was also very useful. She is here on craftsy. I hope this helps. All the best!
